C.4 acre Island located in picturesque Dunmanus Bay.
Mannion’s Island is located in picturesque Dunmanus Bay very close to the shoreline and is accessible all year round. There is a small cove on the eastern end, which is well sheltered, and is ideal for swimming and boating activities. It is within close proximity of the main land – the nearest point being approximately 300m. In a small boat it takes just five to six minutes from the nearest dock to the Island.
The Island is approximately four acres with most parts being very fertile. There is no infrastructure at present, but it would be easy to erect a small windmill, which would generate enough electricity, and there is fresh water supply on the Island.
Any building on the Island would be subject to planning permission, where the local authorities have the final say in such matters.
From the dock it is a five-minute walk to the picturesque Village of Durrus, which has an excellent supermarket, restaurants, shops, pubs and post office. There are two Churches and a school in the Village. The nearest market town of Bantry is only a ten-minute journey by car. Cork International Airport and ferry port are approximately 1 hour 15 minutes away.
